Stretching? I’ve danced for a long time before, but I’ve been a few years cold now. I recently jumped back into a class only to realize that I am completely out of shape. I was never flexible, but I feel so pathetic. Does anyone know any good daily stretching routines that will help me get back into the game? I can’t remember anything.
And if you are doing jazz the new dance look is buff! there was this really big article were it said being on stage and being a twig is not what people are looking for. they like muscles. So what the best jazz stretch, voted by 9of the top dancing jazz teachers, is crunches. Do 150 a day. I know it seems like alot but do it. you really need a dance teacher telling you when you do them to have a flat back on the floor, have all shoulders come up, strair at a place on the ceiling and use your abes to do the crunch. do not do neck ups, where your necks does the work, it will really hurt and on the 80th crunch you will start to get tried and do neck ups but just stress til you get! start out easy,, so u wont b as cold
-stretch over the top of both legs
-do the butterfly and try pushing ur legs down to the ground far
-sit down && stretch over ur legs 2 ur toes
-lay down && pull ur leg toward ur head [[ switch legs 2 ]]
-face a wall and put ur leg on the wall, try 2 get closer 2 the wall. [[ switch ]]
-[[ by the wall ]] put ur hands on the ground [[ kinda like a handstand] and onlii put ONE foot up. try 2 get close to the wall && switch.
-do lots of situps && pushups
– theres also a cupl good partner stretches. heres 2::
-put one knee on the ground, like knealing,, then hav ur partner stand behind u, hav them pull ur leg toward u.
-stand at the wall and put ur leg in second. hav them push it toward u.
-splits ar good 2.
- if u wont 2 stretch ur back,, bridges && portabra.
trust mii,, u want it 2 hurt. dont just stop if it hurts a lil,, because it means ur gettin better. as long as u keep stretching && keep doing it. && DONT quit, ull regret it. i wuz on a reallii good dance team && quit,, soo dont bcuz itz real hard 2 start agen. hope i helped. :] References : dancing basically mii whole life

2009 Oct 18 2Buy a yoga tape and do it daily. Those really improve flexibility!
