    Straight people can …
    Straight people can get married; homosexual people can’t. That’s your definition of equal rights? What impact does her marriage have on you? I’m not gay but reading your comment made me furious.

    You must be a …
    You must be a relative of the idiotic Canadian judge who ruled that the marriage laws were not discriminatory because a gay person could marry someone of the opposite sex whenever s/he wanted to. I always suspected s/he was the same judge who ruled that someone who was fired for being pregnant was not fired for sex discrimination because women don’t get pregnant – people do. Sophistry in service of right-wing/exclusionist thought – *sigh*.

    Thank you for your …
    Thank you for your opinion. You, of course, have never had sex for selfish reasons. And, naturally, you don’t know any gay men or lesbians with children who raise them with love. What a sad, stunted life you lead. By the way, if heterosexuality is so ‘normal’, why does it need all these ugly laws to defend itself? Darwin (but I suppose you don’t believe in him either) would point out that an organism in need of THAT much protection would be selected OUT of the genetic pool. :)

    Exactly! Why should …
    Exactly! Why should this couple get a marriage license if no one else here could get one if they were gay? Why are they an exception?

    That would just be …
    That would just be considered fraudulent anyway…. But everyone DOES have the same rights… whether heterosexual or not, no one can get a marriage license for a gay relationship. Gays are in it for the lust, not love. They don’t feel the need to raise a loving family, but rather satisfy their selfish pleasures.

    Well it doesn’t …
    Well it doesn’t really matter “whose suffering was worse”–it’s not about it being a contest. Everyone is deserving of equal treatment regardless.

    i havent always …
    i havent always been on the “right” side of gay rights, now I use the word “right” loosely because that all depends on your view point. Any how this video perfectly depicts how rediculous the arguments against gay marriage are especially the “sanctity” dumb shit. now to the people who think its just gross well 2 400 pound fatties goin at it is gross to me but does that mean they shouldnt be allowed to have sex? love is love. 28 straight male that believes all humans were created equal!

    My apologies, it …
    My apologies, it felt like those things were being implied. However, I don’t know why you bother writing so much just to say that the problems faced by gays and blacks are different. That’s very obvious and has no influence on the argument against gay rights.

    Kitty is my new hero!! (Ed too) this was BRILLIANT! I applaud her dedication to showing just how ridiculous these bigoted laws are in this country where we falsely claim everyone to be equal and have the right to pursue happiness & freedom…what a joke!

    @modelx23 Okay, …
    @modelx23 Okay, read “Biological Exuberance: Animal Homosexuality and Natural Diversity ” by Bruce Bagemihl then. Covers the same topic, but takes a LOT longer (768 pgs.) “The main portion of the book sets out to reveal and, indeed, revel in the documented evidence to date that some 450 species engage in both sustained and occasional “gay,” “lesbian” and transgendered pairing, parenting and play.”

    @modelx23 I was …
    @modelx23 I was just at a talk by Native Americans from many different tribes. For them, before the missionaries came, LGBT people were revered and respected. When people’s natural sexuality is not repressed, bi and gay people are common. This is true throughout human history, across cultures. Transgender people have also been known throughout human history and across cultures. The facts are on our side; all you have is what you make up in your heads.

    You …
    @Estraven53:

    You lost your credibility at “Wikipedia.”

    Being hermaphroditic doesn’t make animals bisexual…It means that they can both be impregnated and impregnate…

    @modelx23 Look up ” …
    @modelx23 Look up “Homosexual behavior in Animals” in Wikipedia. “No species has been found in which homosexual behaviour has not been shown to exist, with the exception of species that never have sex at all, such as sea urchins and aphis. Moreover, a part of the animal kingdom is hermaphroditic, truly bisexual. For them, homosexuality is not an issue.” The entire animal kingdom is bisexual. Bisexuality is nature’s way. Ciani’s study is just the first of many.
